The Ice factory Ltd. opened its doors to the public on the 12th February, 1995. It is situated at Marisule, Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia and it is managed by Norman St. Edward.

The Ice factory Ltd., Saint Lucia started with five (5) clients on opening day and today stands at over one hundred and twenty (120) active clients and growing. Our clients range from walk-ins, street side vendors, canteens, petrol stations, supermarkets, restaurants and bars, hotels, land and sea tour operators, night clubs, poultry farms, live stock producers, fishermen and distribution depots. Distribution areas from Gros-Islet to the North, Marigot to Vieux Fort to the south and to Laborie.

The Ice Factory Ltd. takes pride in the end product. We presently have in operation a six (6) step filtration system and we constantly test the water to maintain the best in water quality. We will keep improving and treating the water as often as we need to depending on the raw intake quality of the water.

12th February 1995 to 31st December 1995
  • Start up production was eight hundered (800) lbs of ice a day with a client base of five (5).

The business was recording study growth and saw an increase in sales and clients. With the inclusion of another 800 lbs of ice per day, the ice factory ended the year 1995 producing

  • Sixteen hunderd (1600) lbs of ice a day with a client base of twenty-five (25).
1997

The third machine was purchased in November 1997. The Ice factory was now:

  • Producing twenty-four hundred (2400) lbs of ice per day with a quantity of clients in the region of sixty (60).

The increase in sales posed a new challenge to the company to increase production and maintain or reduce the operational cost. The company took a decision to source more efficient equipment.

2000

An industrial ice plant was brought into the production line with an ice making capacity of up to six(6) tons per day.

Presently

Another two (2) industrial ice plants were brought into the production line and can produce well over twenty (2) tons of ice per day, reaching the needs and exceeding all expectations of customers.
